Go Blue...Wear Maize!

So, this is what I came upon this afternoon in my medicine cabinet, I thought it rather funny seeing as on Sunday on our way to church my hubby informed me he had forgotten to brush his teeth. Well, the season is upon us and to tell you the truth, I'm a little excited. I'm done with Summer, of course I was done about three months ago, but that's just me. I love fall. The cool weather and leaves on the ground. Sweaters and jeans and even, yes even the occasional football game. I may have been married too long. It's gonna be a great season.

Jack, of the Johnson's

What a great voice this man has. Now, if you didn't know, he sings on the soundtrack to Curious George which I watch about 4 times minimum a day. I love the songs. Catchy, fun, happy songs. I love that curious little monkey. You should try it. He might show you things you forgot you liked.

Lucy...

What a dog, that darn dog. So, she's the cutest dog I could have gotten for free, but you know what? I may have wanted one that was a little more trainable. All I hear is how hard it is to train Labs. She has made herself at home, and when I say that I mean that she has made our home her toilet. Lovely to go downstairs and wonder if Grace had taken her diaper off down there and left it to rot...no, just Lucy. I love her after Grace goes to bed. She's snugly and worn out from the day. I really do love lucy .

Higher, Higher, Higher

Lift Jesus Higher. I just needed to put a little note in here about my attitude. I apologize to anyone who may be thinking I'm a psycho. I don't want to die, I don't hate my life and I really love being a well rounded Christian. I'm okay and don't think that just because I'm writing this it must be false. Two people now have told me that my blog is a little bit of a downer, or maybe that I just seem "down" I'm here to set the record straight. I'm kooky, I'm cynical and I don't make things up for a laugh. I smile because I have a reason to...most of you being part of that. So please, read with an open mind and heart that will laugh along with my not-so-mainstream humor. Later taters

what?

So you have probably heard that people use duct tape for everything right? Have you ever thought of this? http://news.yahoo.com/photo/070814/480/2cdbd285350b4754895b90548fd8f217 Why? Whatever happened to good ol' pantyhose?

Feels like home...almost

I was thinking that it would be nice to sleep in my own bed and to have Grace in a separate room when we returned home after our long week-end, and I do...kind of. I know that after I have been away from Saginaw for an extended period of time I kind of like to come home, but for some reason, this time, it doesn't feel so much like home. I was genuinely having a really good time with my family. I miss home I miss the lake I miss my Mom and Dad And I really miss my sister. I know I've been talking about it a lot lately, but this is a turning point in our lives and I think it's for the best. I can really be her friend now. Not just talk on the phone and say things will get better, or that I miss her so much. I can see her and hang out. It has been so long. God had a plan, not just for Scott's Ministry, which is going to do awesome in AA, but for my family and our relationship. Eric may hate me for being gone so much, but I can't stop myself. A girl just wants to have f...
So, I just have to let my sister know that I love her and that she makes me laugh a lot. She always has and she won't stop. It's fun to spend time with her because I forgot how much she makes me think. Two different brain waves I guess. Love you Kate

They're here

Well, we made it to ski town from the airport in Detriot, but not without some serious slow downs. Traffic, cars rolled, consruction. It wasn't fun to say the least. I had fun talking and laughing with Kate, but I'm still in a daze about the fact that they are actually living here. The kids are getting along, some cat scratches and fits about having to lay dawn, but for the most part they are playing nicely. As long as Grandma doesn't care too much about purple marker on a white bed sheet. Mind you, we've only been here since 9:30 last evening, it's 9am now. I'm pumped for a work out these next few days, but also for that calm to run over my sister and I knowing that this is going to be it. She's here, where she should be. I love it.

Yes, Michigan!

I just thought this was a great picture of our kids at Disney. What fun we are going to have... So, I'm picking up my older (ha ha) sister from the airport tomorrow so that she can LIVE here, in Michigan, less than 2 hours away from me. I'm having day dreams about having her and her family so close. I can't wait for thanksgiving and Christmas. We can see each other without breaking the bank to get there. I love it, the thought of it makes me so happy and yet, I'm sad for her and Scott and their kids. Having to leave a place they they have called home for the past four years must be difficult. Say a little prayer for the Gigers to get here safe, and feel contented leaving Arizona. I love you Kate

Vacation? bible school

This week starts our annual VBS week. It is going to be crazy. Eric's a little antsy, I'm a bit pregnant and feeling like I could throw up at any second of the day. Grace, well, she's Grace. I'm just not into it this year. I'm picking my sister up from the airport on Wednsday to live here in MI. So I guess that I don't have to do all of VBS. I think that lately I've been thinking about life in general and feeling a bit worried. I need something, I don't know what. I keep filling my plate, but then just get rid of it as fast as it got filled. I think summer needs to be over so I can get back into the swing of things. Yeah, that's the answer to all my prayers. End of summer. Don't bother checking in on me. I can almost assure you I won't feel any different come autumn. arg.....

Coast Gaurd

If you haven't been to Grand Haven, MI before, my in laws would like to say you are missing out. I, on the other hand wouldn't miss it if I didn't have to drive through it to get to Holland or Chicago. We're going to the Coast Gaurd Festival this week-end. Parade, games, rides... It's like a county fair, but Grand Haven. Tanned toned girls and boys, board shorts and deck shoes you know, like they all just stepped off the boat, but the didn't The only people who can afford a slip in Grand Haven are people who don't live there. Don't get me wrong, I love it. I eat it up when I'm there, but don't you dare tell my Husband...

grace

So, back to the slipping, I feel like I wouldn't wish being a single mother on anyone. My daughter is the apple of my eye, as they say, but I could really stand a break from her right now. My husband Eric is gone, but returning today. I hope he really missed her because he'll be spending a lot of time with her very soon. As we speak she is simply sitting in the other room calling out my name. Oh, now she's running to me. Pulling my hand from the keyboard This is what she does when she needs me to not be doing what I'm doing. I hate it and love it all at the same time.

it's me

So, what if I do slip. Who'll catch me. I guess I'll try it out. Seeing as I read everyone else's blog I can find maybe I should just have my own. I don't have much to say today, well, I do, but the kid is all my responsibility right now. I've neglected her long enough. Not even I could watch my favorite tv show this long.
