I rememer hearing it around graduation time, both from high school and college and I didn't think much of it. Today is the first day of the rest of your life? I thought it all on my own today. To all of you who were raised on TV shows like Mr. Rogers, CareBears , or even My Little Pony BEWARE I think it must have happened by mistake, but I wasn't paying attention to what Grace was watching and it all fell apart. Grace was watching Dora or Diego or something innocent like that and I must have been doing laundry, or dishes or something unnecessary like that. Well, in the afternoon, if your child is watching Nickelodeon and those "innocent" shows are over, you need to take heed. Turn the channel and never go back. Big kids get home from school and like to watch things like Avatar, The power of Juju , El Tigre , Scooby Doo (which Grace loves as well) But worst of all, SpongeBob SquarePants What happened to all the good shows? Where has quality Television gone? I could have PBS on all day. but not even I would do that to my child. Lucy just peed at my feet because she has a urinary tract infection and I thought my water broke.

Now, you may be thinking that I'm talking about my belly. You're wrong. My daughter is cursed with being a belly sleeper. (Sorry Sara) She's sick with snot running and coughing and all of that. Last night I gave her medicine and she went to sleep okay without too much coughing. It was a fiasco however to get her to stay on the freaking pillow. She didn't want to have anything to do with it. She wanted to sleep on her belly and let all the snot get stuck and force herself to cough here and there for the first hour. All is fine after that. . . You would think. The medicine wore off around 3:00 AM Eric goes downstairs prop her up cough, cough it's okay to go back to bed. . . no 10 minutes later Kara gets up in a huff walk downstairs on belly flip give medicine wait ten minutes just in case no coughing walk upstairs, lay down, cover up, close eyes cough, cough uurrrggggg Eric: "Are you okay? So I may have had a kidney stone. . . and maybe I didn't. The doctor wasn't too concerned so that means neither am I, right? It hurt, like you know what. I went to the hospital in good ol Muskegon and got an IV (2nd time in my life) and was hooked to a fetal monitor and also blood work and urine and I even threw up. I didn't throw up when I went through labor with Grace. So as you may guess, it was pretty bad. My mom was threre the whole time and Eric was stuck in Saginaw waiting for my sister to call with the newest bits of info. (No cell phones in the Hospital) I went home a bit apprehensive not wanting to leave with the pain, but there wasn't much they could do unless I went into labor, which of course, I didn't. Baby's still here, kicking me. They gave me Moriphene in the hospital which I was assured was okay for the little one, and if I could have I would have taken a bottle home with me. So, I was thinking about me, Can I truly be the person that I am? I can't tell you how much I really think about things. I over think, I ponder, I worry and then I think some more. Why, as my daughter would say. And maybe that's why I think so much. I have to answer her question ten times before she'll let it go. I know as an adult that she only wants me to give up and let her have what she wants, but I still try to answer. Sometimes I say "because I said so" but that drives me nuts after I say it. Back to thinking, I was thinking that maybe I should stop that and just do, whatever it is that I'm trying to think about. You know, do first and think later. I can't honestly think (there I go again) of a time that I just did it, without thinking. Maybe it'll be my new philosophy. I'll reject thinking and only do.
